India’s erotic movies saw their golden age in the pre-digital 1980s, VCRs, CD players and Internet was unknown and unheard. This was the time when “morning show” was a specified for erotic movie. These were screened in theatres across India a few hours before the regular Bollywood blockbusters. For men who were inclined towards these movies had few options only. Going for a morning show was only pleasure they could have with a risk of meeting relatives, colleagues or acquaintances.
The concept of morning shows or the adult shows is no longer alive in India–many of their promotional posters are still around.
The erotic movie makers take Bollywood popular content to a whole new level. Wet shirts feature prominently, minimally-clad and Western-looking women. This was the India which was yet to relate easily to sexuality; even those who worked in the adult film industry were coy about it.
