As the ornate Elysee Palace is getting ready to welcome the first baby, Carla Bruni, French President Nicolas Sarkozy's wife, says she has not spoken publicly about her pregnancy because she is"superstitious"about it.
Bruni, 43, is pregnant with her second child -- her first with Sarkozy -- and has been rather quiet about it after the international media followed her closely.
"I'm superstitious, so yes, I've been very careful,"she said in an interview to the BBC to be aired tomorrow.
"But there isn't much to say. So many women are expecting children and giving birth and it's so uninteresting for French people.
